How it all began...

The idea had been circling in my head for years. But the time was right and I could no longer fight the wanderlust that had built up. I bought a 1977 GMC NuWa motor home, threw a solar panel on top and started getting it ready for the open road. My main goal: to wander around North America, catching up with old friends, visiting new places and experiencing things I haven't before. This is my story...

Happy Anniversary!

Apple Valley, CA - It was one year ago today that I departed Denver, Colorado, the city that I had called home for 8 years. I have been on the road ever since, living the life of a vagabond. I have had many wonderful experiences, met amazing people, reconnected with old friends and made a few new ones. The beauty that I have witnessed over the past year is beyond description. I can only say get out there and explore the world around you. The possibilities are nearly endless. There are so many things out there just waiting for you to stop by and take notice. So get out there, explore, play and have fun.

Well, that is exactly what I have been doing since my summer job ended in October. I've traveled to Lake Tahoe, San Francisco (twice), Bakersfield, Baja (Mexico) and Mammoth Ski Resort. And it has been wonderful to explore so many places and in the case of Baja, be able to give back to the local community by volunteering and distributing food, clothing, medication and toys. Traveling and living a carefree life is a beautiful thing, but it's nice to feel grounded once in a while and truly get involved in helping other people. On the road, that is one method to feel a part of a community. I look forward to getting more involved in the months to come.

That was my "Year in Review" for my anniversary. Yes, that was brief and very incomplete. Yet it was an incredible year filled with experiences, lessons, a better understanding of some things and less of an understanding of others. So it goes.
